“A boy comes to me with a spark of interest, I feed the spark and it becomes a flame. I feed the flame and it becomes a fire. I feed the fire and it becomes a roaring blaze.”
– Where did it all start?
It first started when I met a personal trainer 7 years ago, I wasn’t leading a healthy lifestyle and had no idea about nutrition. I quickly seen results through regular training, not only that but I learnt about fitness and nutrition (he even took me food shopping!). Within a few months I felt and looked the best I had in years.
My interest in health and fitness started to grow and I wanted to pass this onto people just like me when I first started. I completed my personal trainer qualifications and became passionate about helping other people achieve their health and fitness goals.
– Why CrossFit?
I’ve always been interested in sports and seen CrossFit on TV one day. I booked my first class and thought I was really fit. After my first WOD (Fight gone bad!) I had a new outlook on what fitness really was, and my life has never been the same since. The workouts are constantly varied and focus on functional fitness for everyday life. They’re fun, challenging and rewarding.
– Favourite thing about CrossFit?
My favourite thing about CrossFit is the community. Whether it’s a 1 rep max or a challenging workout, everybody supports you and cheers you on.

“When you don’t feel like training and you make up an excuse not to get off the couch… remember why you do it! (Josh Bridges)”
– Where did it all start?
I was very fit when I was younger concentrating on Swimming and Martial Arts. In 2018, when I was 40 years old and after having two young kids, I had become overweight, unhealthy and pretty unhappy. I’d let myself go for 20 years and wanted something to do which was for myself and would help me get into shape. I googled fitness classes in Ellenbrook, up came Infused and the rest is history!
– Why CrossFit?
It was like nothing I had ever experienced before, I’d been fit when I was younger but this was something else I came out of my first class hurting like I never had, and puking into the bushes, and although it took me a while to pluck up the courage to go back I knew I had found something special.
-Favourite thing about CF?
The amazing supportive community and the fact that you never get to the end of where you want to be. PB a lift, set the expectation heavier. Beat your previous workout time, plan to go even quicker next time. It never ends and the only limit is what you set yourself.
-Favourite Movement?
I love the Olympic lifting and I’m pretty comfortable with the Echo Bike and Wallballs.

“Even the greatest was once a beginner. Don’t be afraid to take that first step.”
– Where did it all start?
When I finished Muay Thai in 2015 I needed something with the same excitement and Adrenalin. It took me a while to find, but CrossFit is the only other thing that has done that for me.
– Why CrossFit?
Because I need a challenge, I need options, I need excitement!
-Favourite thing about CF?
It’s always very challenging, always something new to learn or improve on, it’s never the same. It’s exciting!
-Favourite Movement?
I don’t have a favourite at the moment. I would have always said deadlift, however, now I’m more experienced I’m loving a lot more movements.

“I have not failed. I’ve just found 10,000 ways that won’t work.”
– Where did it all start?
Was going to other boot camp type gyms but didn’t really feel like I was getting enough out of it. I dropped into my local Box at the time in NSW (Hive Active) and signed up. Since then I’ve never looked back.
– Why CrossFit?
I Fell in love with the variation and combination of weight lifting, gymnastics and cardio. When I walked into the first class, I had no idea what to expect, I thought I was pretty fit and strong and this would be just another boot camp type of situation….. Wow, that was a massive underestimation and I don’t think I had really experienced anything like it.
Aside from the community it was that roller coaster of emotions I went through during a workout, having other members yelling encouragement as they worked out beside you, feeling like you found your limit and using the energy from everyone to push a little harder. Then after time was called collapsing in a heap trying to catch your breath and hoping the feeling in your limbs would come back soon. That’s what keeps me coming back!!
– Favourite thing about CrossFit?
The friendly and supportive community. I really enjoy that during any session someone can look up from what they’re doing and offer shouts of encouragement for a PB on an Olympic Lift, or someone doing their first gymnastics movement or fighting through exhaustion to finish a workout.
– Favourite movement?
I always enjoy weightlifting and Gymnastics days.

- Never enough!! Started in June 2016 in Sydney with Hive Active.

“It is a shame for a man to grow old without seeing the beauty and strength of which his body is capable.”
– Where did it all start?
Playing sport my whole life, I’ve always loved doing anything related to exercise to try and improve my own performance or improve my own recovery time from injuries, this led me down a path of study and I eventually came out knowing I wanted to be able to help other people to improve just like I’ve always tried on myself.
– Why Exercise Physiology?
There is no magic pill in the world that solves all problems but if there were to be a magic pill the closest we have is exercise, I want to learn all there is to know about exercise so I can pass that knowledge on and hopefully improve other people’s lives.
-Fav thing about Exercise Physiology?
Getting to meet and treat a wide range of people with all different injuries and conditions and seeing the look on people’s faces when they tell you what you’re doing with them is having a positive effect.
